First Moment with Eden For those of you who haven't yet met our newest little one. This is a little intro to our precious baby girl, Eden Neiel Mann This little sweetheart was born August 22nd. What an experience that was.... Know the scenes in movies where the pregnant woman is yelling at her husband in the car, "You better step on it or I'm going to have this baby in the car!!!! ? This was pretty much our experience. We got to the Birthing Center and she was born two minutes later. I asked Richard the next day if he thought I was being a drama queen in the car, he said he yes. Think he should take me a little more seriously next time? So, have I mentioned how I think that women are some of the most fascinating creations of God. There are the more obvious reasons for this :), but what I'm referring to here is the whole pregnancy, labor and birthing process. We girls get to have this tiny creature grow inside of us for many months, feel them kick, punch, and flip. Sure, it makes many of us disgustingly sick to be pregnant, but still, men will never know what thats like, to have a human being grow inside of you. Sorry fellas. Then there is this remarkable labor business. It is unspeakably painful, and the idea of experiencing that again anytime soon is quite terrifying, but you can't help but see how amazing it is what your body does to bring a baby into the world. Fascinating. I'd go into more detail, but it would probably make Richard blush, and you probably don't want to know anyway.... So, back to Eden, it's hard to believe she is three months old tomorrow. We have all been having so much fun with her. The kids shower her with hugs and kisses all day long. Richard and I are pretty taken with her too, except for when she won't go to sleep at night.... Here are a few more pics from the day she was born.
Here's on with "aunt cousin Kriss" her namesake, Kristyn Neiel Haws.
Gideon sees his baby sister for the first time. He was totally excited to meet her. Elliotte on the other hand wasn't so sure about this baby that Mama was holding. It took a good two hours for her to warm up to Eden, but she has been crazy about her baby sister ever since.
Aren't they pretty?
Back at Pop and Grannie's that evening. I think Gideon is so pretty in this picture.
Our little family.
A few days later we went up to the mountains together.
"What the heck is daddy doing???"
A week after Eden was born we got to celebrate Elliotte's birthday! Here are a few shots from that. Birthday doughnut breakfast.
Birthday girl in her birthday dress (daddy picked it out).
Birthday buddy, Uncle Matt (is she picking her nose?)
Sweet sisters
Getting ready for the first bath. As you can see, I had plenty of help with this....
Allright, this is all for now. |
